I pray all is well. The attribute I want (more like need, lol) to focus on today is God and Jesus as patient. Patience is definitely one of the things I struggle with most in life, second only to pride. Lately, I feel like God has been showing me that there is a direct relationship between faith in God, and having patience, knowing that He will works things out, but on His time and in His way. This is not to say that I should always sit back, do nothing, and wait on God. Instead, I think it means that I should always operate out of the understanding that no matter what the situation may look like to me at the moment, God is working it out.
I am so glad that God is patient with me in two respects. One, He is patient in that no matter how many times I “get it wrong,” He will always stay with me until I “get it right.” Regardless of what area of my life this pertains to. Second, He is patient in that before He blesses or reveals something to me, He waits until it will benefit me in the maximum way.
Just as God is patient with me, He calls me to be patient with Him and what He’s doing in my life, and in the lives of others. Today’s scripture comes from Isaiah 40: 31 (NIV), which emphasizes the benefit of being patient:
“but those who hope (wait) in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Talk about a word I needed to hear!
Until tomorrow, take care and God bless!
