I pray all is well. Today’s focal attribute is God and Jesus as wise. I feel like one of the main differences between having knowledge and having wisdom, has to do with the passive and active nature of these respective terms. It seems that one can acquire knowledge by simply being on the receiving end of information, or at the minimum putting forth some effort to remember and understand the information. However, it seems that in order to obtain wisdom, one must be intentional and active regarding learning about and through life. These are gross generalizations, because I know in many cases the acquisition of knowledge is very active.
In addition to God being all-knowing (Day 1), He is also infinitely wise. In short, He knows everything about everything, all the time, lol. In scripture, there are many instances in which God shows us what it means for me to live a life that pursues and values wisdom.
Today’s scripture comes from James 3: 17-18 (NIV), where James lays out the type of wisdom that (1) comes from God, and (2) those who seek to draw close to God should purse:
“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.”
Until tomorrow, stay blessed and encouraged!
