Collision 10

Superheroes + supervillains + biblical worldview = Collision!

Well, Project¬†Collision to be exact…

In May of 2012 I saw a concept piece based on Romans 8:31 a friend of mine shared on his Facebook page. It features the Hulk and a young boy staring each other down, and the boy showing the Hulk he’s not afraid of him because he’s a child of God. The pic immediately became popular amongst my Christian friends, and I immediately became fascinated with the potential of using popular comic superheroes and supervillains to illustrate Christian concepts and biblical truths.

Enter Project: Collision

Once I knew I wanted to take this concept further (which was as soon as I saw the piece), I started thinking of ideas for other pieces. One day, a few ideas came to me (by the grace of God) that I thought would make for good concept pieces, and I knew I was ready to look for an artist to collaborate with. So I put a couple of fillers out to artists in a couple of the Christian comic Facebook groups I below to, and Mike Abuan, an amazing artist, responded right away. He was excited about the idea, and we exchanged a few e-mails discussing concept pieces. It didn’t take us long to decide on the first few, with the goal of putting out a piece once a month until/unless something changes.

Below are each of the pieces, in the order they were created. You can also download all 11 of them from free to share with friends, family, and others you think will find them encouraging. The goal is to use these pieces as a way to communicate Christian concepts and biblical truths to the comic community, and to hopefully point some people to Christ in the process. In essence, we want this project to make an impact, which is the inevitable result whenever two or more things collide. We hope you like them, please spread the word, and God bless.

Wow! This is easily some of the greatest Christian comic art I’ve ever seen. You should sell these in a big, professional size. Amazing.
